Separation anxiety can also cause distress signs in dogs,such as barking or other behavioral changes. Sometimes it can feel likeyour dog hasn’t seen you for years. Theseare the most common signs that your dog is experiencing separation anxiety. 

Your dog's behavior can trigger separation anxiety. Dogs can cause injury tothemselves and chew on other objects. Theycan chew on door frames and window sills, as well as digging at doors. They may also damage their nails and cause injury to theirpaws by this behavior.

The pattern can be seen as astraight line, a circle or as a circle. Youcan tell anxiety if your dog does not do this in your presence. 

There are many reasons why your dog may be anxious to beapart from you. However, there isn’t enough evidence. Adopted shelter dogs aremore likely than dogs raised by one family to experience separation anxiety. Separation anxiety can occur when a significantperson/people in a dog’s life is killed. 

Dogs can become anxious if their routines change, theirhome is changed, or they feel bored. 

Counterconditioning is a treatment for mild separationanxiety in dogs. Thisinvolves changing an animal's aggressive, fearful or anxious reaction to becomemore relaxed and pleasant. You can do thisby associating your dog's disliked object with someone they like.
